Abdullah Altaf is the MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer) Regional Lead from Saudi Arabia and is working as a Sr. Technical Consultant. He currently holds over 35 certifications including: Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) in Office 365, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, MCSE Messaging, MCP, MTA, MCS. He is a Microsoft Specialist & Certified Professional with over 10 years of IT industry experience. He has experience in Azure Stack consultation and deployment and possesses a unique combination of technical skills and management expertise. His prime focus is Microsoft Product and Technologies. He has result-oriented and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to quickly grasp modern technologies. 

MCT Interview

1. What inspired you to become an MCT?  

The IT experts and professionals were always a source of motivation for me to become an MCT and IT professional. I could never imagine myself being an instructor, but my technology learning passion motivated me to step into this amazing journey. I appreciate my teachers who encouraged me to become a professional IT instructor during my MS degree.

2. How did you plan and prepare when you first became an MCT? 

The determination and passion for learning are the prerequisites for becoming an MCT, and I tried my best to keep up with both. After delivering many trainings to students and Microsoft partners, I became an MCT through the image academy affiliate institute. I made sure to choose the certification path which matched my interest and abilities.

3. Why are MCTs important? What do they add to the training world? 

MCTs are essential for the training world as they provide official Course Presentations and always up-to-date material. They contribute to the training industry by upskilling themselves and their students. Being an MCT, I aim to give back to the training industry by upskilling as many professionals as possible.

4. What are your thoughts about the future of training? 

With the pandemic situation around the globe, the training industry has evolved to match the pace of change. The future of the training industry will relate to the experiential learning practices and will be focused on encouraging learners to respond to transformational changes as rapidly as possible. I believe that 90% of training will be conducted online with interactive metaverse technology.

5. Do you have any advice for new MCTs or trainers who are interested in becoming MCTs?  

I want to encourage IT professionals to become MCTs and try to stick with their daily learning habits. The world belongs to learners, those who are interested need to start their training career with an IT Academy or take official training that helps them get certified. It takes passion and consistency to learn and upskill to become an MCT. MCTs must believe in sharing their knowledge and skills with other learners to advance the training industry.
