It is a tool set and skill set for anyone who is interested in the Lean Six Sigma methodology. It can also be used as a training manual for training organizations. This book follows the continuous improvement maturity model which analyzes not only the processes of the organization but also the behaviors and attitude of the people. A Lean Six Sigma Orange Belt can be a valuable team member in an improvement project.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is the third in the series of training material and certifications available from Lean Six Sigma. The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training is often followed by project leaders, department managers, process owners, design engineers, process engineers and quality engineers.
After this training, participants look at processes in a different way. They can identify redundant activities and assess process performance more objectively. We cover all five levels of the CIMM framework. After this training, participants master the Lean techniques, with which processes can be organized more efficiently, as well as the Six Sigma techniques with which the variation in processes can be reduced. This leads to shorter lead times and fewer errors and rejections.
The recommendation is that the candidates have implemented or being part of an improvement project. The Lean elements will be discussed in chapter 1 to 6. The Six Sigma elements will be discussed from chapters 7.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is the fourth in the series of training material and certifications available from Lean Six Sigma. The structure of this book is based on the LSSA Skill set for Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt. All of the techniques described in these Skill set will be reviewed in this book. The Lean elements will be discussed in chapter 1 to 6. The Six Sigma elements will be discussed from chapters 7.
This book can be used for two purposes. Firstly, it acts as a guide for Black Belts undertaking a Lean or Six Sigma project following the DMAIC roadmap (‘Define – Measure – Analyze – Improve – Control’). Secondly, this book serves to determine where the organization stands and what the best strategy is to get to a higher Continuous Improvement Maturity Level (CIMM) level.
